TPS was started, in 2002, by Alistair Wilkie who felt that there was a gap in the market for a truly “service led” company. Our reputation has been built and continues to grow, on this principle; same day deliveries are commonplace for us and we regularly source and supply “customer specials” faster than our competitors. Our, staff have been carefully selected for their willingness and ability to understand our customer’s  needs and to respond in kind: leading off the sales team is Gary Harvey (also our General Manager!) who has vast trade experience and a real “can do” approach; in the offices, we’ve secured the services Margaret Ann Speirs, a professional administration manager.

We, currently, operate from Blackhall St in Paisley, just next to the new Morrison’s supermarket and close by to the Hurlet and the Watermill Hotel. Our 20,000 Sq Ft warehouse and 6,000 Sq Ft of yard space are further complimented by a large, off-road car park and loading/unloading area. As you might expect, our stocks are comprehensive, covering extensive ranges of treated softwood, graded material, dressed hardwood/softwood and a huge choice of sheet materials through plasterboard, MDF, Plywood and doors.
Our showroom further boasts stock of hardwood flooring, ironmongery, DIY items and a modest hire centre. And if we don’t have it in stock, we’ll “go to the ends of the earth” to try and source it for you!

We have, recently added to the facilities in our Sawing & Machining Centre with the addition of a brand new Pauloni Spindle Moulder and a fully reconditioned Band Resaw. This now allows us to carry out specialist and bespoke machining services, producing those “difficult to get mouldings,” etc, in house. These machines are in addition, of course to a wall saw for panel/sheet cutting, a planer/thicknesser and a X-cut saw. Our facilities, for the mill, are constantly under review and we will add machinery as demand dictates, in the future.

With the best interests of our staff and customers in mind, we have engaged the services of Peninsula (a professional consultancy and advisory company) to guide us through our HR responsibilities and indeed Health & Safety legislation. This, of course, will involve everyone in extra work to ensure that we’re all up to speed, but essential if we’re to maintain our good reputation for safety and security, along with our legal responsibilities as am employer.

As to the future and as we bring more customers on board, we are striving to ensure that our service levels remain at the forefront of our company’s reputation. It must be working since a lot of our business is achieved through word of mouth recommendation and customers coming back to us on a regular basis!
